In my Land Australia
The summer wind carries the
secrets of the time
You can here the carols of
Christmas on a hot summers breeze
And watch the great southern star
Guiding the wise men
Through the dark of night
To where our saviour lay

Christmas Around The World
My Home Land Australia

The Southern stars are shinning bright
Casting a shadow over the land on this night
Filling the hearts of children with Christmas delight
Here in our Great Southern land I am proud to call mine

Christmas Eve - In this outback land
From a winters tradition - we have a hot summer sun
The wind of the desert carries the sand
Across our vast dry arid land
But the spirit of the time is still close at hand

Preparing for the dawn to rise
When the children will open their sleeping eyes
And race to see what is there beneath the tree
The gifts that Santa did leave there just for me
A little girl and little boy sing in time a carol of joy
Then race outside to play with their new toy

The joy of the morning carries on through the day
A hot summer sun does not stop the children play
Mum and Dad sitting in the shadows of the rays
With a smile in their hearts remembering their own yesterday

The evening cools the night air around
It's time for turkey and food - of wonderful abound
With all the trimmings in our Christmas meal to be found
A time for all our family at the table we surround
To give thanks to the Lord for this gift
On this day of Christmas in my home town
